Not a fan of the hard-clipping that stops around 0:20, and returns around 1:10.
It's no worries if you used it intentionally, but it's a bit too jarring for me personally.
Very interesting overall though.

i think that's just from a lack of skills x)
thanks for listening anyways!
Amazing, the stereo image from the arp/synth that starts around 0:36... I would love to be able to construct that professional level of stereo presence, with any synth or sample. I would love to be able to produce all the chip-tune tones throughout.
The only downside I can even think of, is that I wish it was longer.
More interesting sounds in 89 seconds, than in most full EPs I've heard recently.
i tried something new in the way i mix, which is to mix in mono and to add a stereo imager in the master bus... glad to see that it did it's job
as for the length, i actually rushed this for a deadline, hence the shortness. i will, however, expand upon this as it was accepted in a commission.
Purely as the only thing I can add in terms of constructive criticism, maybe the drums/hats are a bit 'busy' or intense(?) in some parts and fight for room with the complex melodies and synth/key sounds. But that's purely personal opinion, and the only 'improvement' I could make or suggest.
Again, lots of interesting ideas, a much more structured song than anything I'm capable of making, and I'm interested to hear more!
Maybe it has something to do with me trying to attach a unique trait onto my music but I will keep your words in mind, reading that this is the only thing you are struggling with is like a
seal of quality for me and I will take care of your viewpoint in the future!
I don't have enough knowledge about production/mixing etc to offer any constructive criticism about that, but I think the song as a whole is genuinely awesome.
There are actually many segments you could make a loop from; 1:50 - 2:30 roughly for example, is good enough for a loop on its own!
I wish you all the best with your music; either as a hobby or else as a profession in any way, don't ever get disheartened.
Thank you! I think your music offers a pleasant sound so your words mean a lot to me. In fact,
I was thinking about creating single loops someday, often I am creating loops during the initial period before deciding to round off the previous outcome to a more extensive track.
I also wish you the best on your further path!
Fantastic sound. Can't tell if the bass is sequenced, or recorded from playing live, it's awesome either way. Not only is the overall sound design fantastic if it were just drums/bass/guitar, your electro pixie elf can REALLY play his elfish electro flute.
The pixie elf charges biig money so I can only have them on every now and then
Can I lick your drum patterns?
And just take a tiny piece off the corner of your synths?
I mean, I could do all that cool stuff, I just don't ever feel like it. Honest.
HOW DO U EVEN BEATS. HOW U MAKE SILENCE AROUND 8 SECONDS IN, A GREAT THING.
I'll trade you... all my spare sidechaining, compression, and EQ. Everyone says I've got way too much already.
loving these comments
Cool stuff. Really nice synths and oldschool electro bass. Really like the lead too! Smart. 10/10.
Thanks man! I really tried to go for that oldschool sound, hence using an actual hardware analog synth for the bass and that echo pad in the beginning. I think it paid off in the end, even if this was a really quickly-done song.
Really like it. Feel like you could add more depth/voices etc to the bass. Really good tune though. Really nice idea to use the classical piece in a drum and bass setting. Could do with being longer! I like it. 4.5/5 only because it's so short
thanks, yeah it's too short. I don't really like the second part of original Carol of the bells song
That kick and snare combo sounds tight as fuck. Really like the sludgy main bass thing at the bottom registers. Really cool. Really nice production man. I subbed.
That's awesome, dude! Always delighted to get a new Fan on NG! I'll be hoping to hear more from you in the future ;)
